To confine myself to the Police Force I can definitely

suggest that Example was present also that the conduct of certain

I was

one of the specially selected officers who was ordered

back to Hong Kong for the taking over process and on arrival was

posted to the C.I.D., Water Police Station as 0.1.C. This posting

was made by the then Acta. Comm. of Police. On going to the station

I was

not allowed to assume the post I was alloted and found that I

had to play second fiddle to an ex-Shanghai Policeman who was only

on a one year contract and who was absolutely Green to local law

or conditions. Naturally I did not stand for this and was obliged to

raise the question. This was the start of the lengthy correspondance
